Last week we officially launched KAPITAL (previously HackCapital), the financial infrastructure to power the impact economy, starting with our Feeder Funds, Roll-Ups, and Micro Vehicles.

In the last year, we’ve made 912 investor / LP intro’s leading to $150M+ in capital raised, and structured 32 investments with a group of 350+ investors.

Along the way we’ve tested, built and refined our own suite of fundraising and liquidity tools, and now excited to be rolling these out to Funds, Startups and Syndicates working in impact.

📊 The Why: Whilst it’s extremely promising to see interest in climate funding boom over the last few years ($40B invested in 1,000+ deals in 2022), there’s still a massive funding gap (est. $7tn per year) in order to meet our climate objectives.

This gap is in part caused by shortcomings of the traditional financial system - filled with intermediaries and gatekeepers that trim layers of fees, administration processes that remain analogue and outdated, and complexities with structuring secondaries that make investing in private markets illiquid.

We don’t think administrative burdens or outdated process should be the reason limiting new capital from entering this sector, and we’ve built a suite of tools to make fundraising, financing and liquidity pain-free.

🌎 The How: KAPITAL supports Fund Managers, Startup Founders and Syndicates with purpose-built fundraising and liquidity tools.

We provide a fully digitised, compliant, EU-based investment infrastructure for you to easily, and affordably, raise funding from your network through our Feeder Funds, Roll-Up’s and Micro Vehicles.

Practically, we take care of:

• Compliant KYC / AML on all your investors.

💰 Fund Feeders: Most interestingly for VC’s will be our Feeder Funds, which are being used today to pool together an unlimited number of small ticket investors, as a single LP.

💚 The Community: KAPITAL is a spinoff of the HackGroup, and was born with close collaboration from the FoodHack and ClimateHack communities.

We’ve seen how community can drive the growth of the impact ecosystem - from our meetups that are now active in 42 cities across the globe, to our HackSummit that brought together 950+ of the top Funds and Founders for 2-days of deep networking in Switzerland.

Community is what got us here, and community will continue to remain an integral part of what drives us forward on our mission to unlock billions in new capital towards impact.
